Criminals, like animals, can sense when someone has the combat mindset and most will then choose to leave you alone. If they suspect you are totally committed to doing whatever it takes to win, they will likely choose another more frail and feeble victim than you. The combat mindset is a choice, the choice to survive. It is doing away with the moral imperative we as “civilized” people hold true, that only criminals use violence. So where does this leave you? Self-defense? The mindset of self-defense teaches people to react to a situation. It suggests that you are not prepared to “act”, but merely trying to defend yourself and hope for the best.
