Pharmaceutical Science
£ Yerevan State Medical University (YSMU) trains highly qualified physicians and
healthcare professionals for countries of CIS, Central Asia, Europe and others
worldwide
£ “GXP” Centre of Excellence of the Medicine Producers and Importers Union of
Armenia (MPI) o er professional training courses developed by experienced
international experts
Currently there are 8 research-oriented scientific centers, universities and other
establishments of higher education
£ YSMU: one of the leading public medical universities in Eastern Europe providing
fundamental and applied scientific research (General Medicine, Public Health,
Stomatology, Pharmacy, and Military Medicine)
£ The Institute of Fine Organic Chemistry: development of drugs for the treatment of
cardio-vascular, neuro-psychic and infectious diseases, cancer, and for use in
surgical practice
£ The Institute of Molecular Biology: cell biology, Genomics, molecular and cellular
immunology
£ The Institute of Biochemistry; the Institute of Organic Chemistry: neurochemistry,
organic synthesis and polymer chemistry
£ The Scientific and Production Center “Armbiotechnology”: biotechnology and bio-
organic chemistry
£ The Armenian Institute of Applied Chemistry (ARIAC): a team of PhD chemists and
researchers providing a large number of services from contract manufacturing to
syntheses route development and manufacturing facility design
