Christmas at the House of Avro

3

Review by Sheena Bonilla

Picture this. Ornamented trees, fresh powder as white as snow, a life-sized nativity set, and ice sculptures...if you don't hear those sleigh bells ringing folks, you will very soon! Christmas at the House of Avro will leave you in higher spirits than when you had arrived. Tired of flying in order to gather adequate information for your mental map of unknown terrain? Take a break and ride the train! Feel free to stand up and explore at any point. This place has more to offer than free train rides.

If you are a landowner and are in need of miscellaneous items to jolly-fy your home, visit a variety of stores at the Christmas Mall. (Hint: If you stay on the train, it will eventually make a stop there). There, you'll find a wide range of decor for you, for your loved ones, and for passerbyers to enjoy. From wreaths to trees to "sleds up to 8 persons," this one spot will save you the trouble of landmarking multiple locations in Second Life.

Hate crowded ice skating rinks? Rest assured! There are multiple ice skating rinks for recreational use. But before you step foot onto the ice rink, you might want to pay a visit to the marketplace first in order to purchase some ice skates. If you're like me and your favorite price is "FREE," be sure to narrow your search down on the left-hand side to the price range of L$0 - L$10. (Here's the following link for the kind-hearted individual who sold me my skates: : https://marketplace.secondlife.com/p/V-Style-SKha-V3-White-Free-Ice-Skates/1649168)

Keep in mind that some areas do not allow you to open boxes on the premises, so you may have to teleport out in order to remove your skates from the box. (Hint: Near the train stop at the Christmas Mall, there is a circle on the ground that can teleport you to a floating ice rink!)

Maybe ice-skating doesn't tickle your fancy. That's okay! Go to the top of the mountain for some skiing. At a higher elevation, you'll encounter fresh powder and a view like no other. So enjoy the snow! Enjoy the ambiance! Enjoy some winter activities with a friend or two at Christmas at the House of Avro where you can experience the spirit of the holidays all year round.
