How you take white rice can 'make a big difference'

We all heard and read about how white rice which pushes up glucose is BAD for us. But how can we resist one of Singapore’s famous dish – “Chicken Rice”? Well, there is this recent article in ST (by Salma Khalik, Senior Health Correspondent) may help us to eat chicken rice without the guilt!

Let us summarise the article for you:

1. Drink Soup First When Eating Chicken Rice

Soup is rich in amino acids, which stimulates the secretion of insulin. Insulin will help to rapidly remove sugar produced by the rice.

2. Eat Rice with Protein

The best protein is tofu, but chicken and other meat also helps.

3. Drink Essence of Chicken 15 minutes before the meal will

help to reduce sugar in your blood by 1/3.

4. Drink Milk or Soya 30 minutes after meal.
