Honorable Deputy Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff , dear Executives , Officers , ladies & gentlemen .
I would like to welcome and thank you all , for your participation to the inaugural # SEC4BLUEconomy24 , Int ' l conference , a new yet quite timely event in an area of high activity in the marine environment such as the Eastern Mediterranean .
The conference deals with the Security of the Blue Economy , in economic activities Above or Below the SEA level . Security for the Maritime ( Shipping , Cruise , Yachts / Superyachts ), Coastal & Offshore Critical Infrastructure ( such as Oil & Gas exploration / exploitation platforms , Wind & Wave Farms , Subsea Pipelines , Power & Telecommunications Cables , even Aquaculture farms ), Ports , Marinas and of course SAR operations after avoidable illegal incidents .
The # SEC4BLUEconomy24 conference follows our CYPNaval conferences in Cyprus since 2013 .
Our aim as Organizers , is to raise awareness and the cooperation of all those who are active and invest in the Marine environment , in dealing with current and future security challenges on the occasion of the economicenergy-tourism synergies emerging in the East Mediterranean .
“ Facilitating the BLUE Economy by enhancing its SECURITY ” is our motto .
