Established in 2003 , the Association of Banking and Financial Executives of Hellenic Shipping is a non-profit organization , well known in the shipping market . Its members include executives from financial industry , CFOs from shipping companies and other experts of maritime and shipping industries . The main purpose of the Association is to enhance the function of Hellenic shipping and financing , to promote and consolidate the place of Piraeus as the international shipping and financing center , to further improve the understanding as well as the business connections among its members , to further improve their roles and functions in the banks and shipping sectors of Greece . The Association produces research studies , relating to shipping finance sector , and provides training opportunities for its members .

The Target The Association aims at playing a collective role in recommending shipowners to financial institutions and shipyards , assisting Chinese financial institutions in managing overseas shipping assets and maintaining long-term cooperative relations between the Greek shipping industry and Chinese shipyards and financial institutions .
