RB James White: The senior tailback has rushed for 1,337 yards and 13 touchdowns
this season. The 5’10”, 197-pound White averages an impressive 6.4 yards per carry.
White can get outside in a hurry and take it to the house. He has one more chance to
etch his name into Badger history.
RB Melvin Gordon: The sophomore running back has rushed for
1,466 yards and 12 touchdowns this season. He is the other half
of the best one-two running back punch in college football this
season. He is slightly larger at 6’1”, 203 pounds, and averages an
astonishing 8.1 yards per carry. This unit is unique because the
two backs can run both inside and outside the tackles
WR Jared Abbrederis: Once a walk-on quarterback, Abbrederis
has become Wisconsin’s best option at wide receiver and is
leading the Badgers with 73 catches for 1,051 yards and seven touchdowns. If South
Carolina loads the box, Abbrederis will have a big game. Abbrederis is not only coming
off a 12-catch, 135-yard performance in the season finale, but he is also a dangerous
punt returner.
LB Chris Borland: The 5’11”, 246-pounder is perhaps the best linebacker in the Big
Ten and is leading Wisconsin this season with 102 tackles. Borland ranks sixth in
school history with 408 total tackles and fourth with 50 tackles for loss. He also owns
the Big Ten record with 14 forced fumbles.
OL Ryan Groy: The 6’5”, 320-pounder should be the next in a long line of Wisconsin
offensive linemen to become solid NFL players. He moved in the preseason to left
tackle before switching back to his natural position at guard for his final season. He
could really improve his stock for the NFL draft with a strong showing against the
Gamecocks’ exceptional defensive line.
