QB Johnny Manziel: Despite being disrespected this year by the Heisman voters, who for some reason put A.J. McCarron and Jordan Lynch ahead of Manziel, Johnny Football put up Heisman numbers once again. He produced 4,418 total yards this season and 41 touchdowns. His final two games of the season were his worst, but the grueling season had taken its toll on Manziel. With the month off, he should put a show on. WR Mike Evans: Similar to Manziel, Evans had a very good season but also struggled in the final two games of the year. For the season, Evans had 1,322 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. However, in his last two games, he only combined for 59 yards and zero touchdowns. Evans needs to return back to form for the Aggies to win. OL Jake Matthews: While Manziel and Evans struggled in the final two games of the season, Matthews has played well all season long and will likely be a top-five pick in the NFL draft. As good as Manziel has been the past two seasons, it is easy to overlook the fact that this offense begins and ends with the strong play of the Aggies offensive line. RB Ben Malena: Earlier this season, the Aggies were giving opponents a strong dose of Malena. However, over the past six games Malena has not carried the ball more than nine times in a single contest. While 10 carries might not be necessary, he does need to get at least 12 offensive touches. In the Aggies’ eight wins, Malena averaged just under 12 touches a game. In losses, he only averaged eight touches. Derel Walker: There is no guarantee that Evans will get out of his recent funk. If he doesn’t, the Aggies will need to have another big game out of Walker. While Evans only had 59 yards to go along with no scores over the final two games, Walker had 190 receiving yards and two touchdowns. For the season, he has caught 45 passes for 705 yards and four touchdowns.
