While statistically the Bulldogs have been average on defense, their defense was stellar down the stretch, allowing just four touchdowns over their last three games. Deciding factor of the game This game will be won by the team that does the best job running the football. Neither team is going to put major passing numbers up in this game. As a result, this game will be won on the ground. This would be the perfect game for senior running back LaDarius Perkins to find his old form. He has underperformed most of the season running the ball, although he has made plays in the passing game. The good news is that the Bulldogs’ best rushing option is their quarterback, and he should be close to 100 percent again after the time off. Predictions Rice is a very dangerous team, and the Bulldogs have been an inconsistent team. That could be a recipe for disaster for Mississippi State. In my opinion, both teams will struggle to move the ball early. However, the Bulldogs will use a couple trick plays early and wear down the Owls late.
