1978
The Beginning
What started as an idea, the first SEBC was held in the basement of the
Jacksonville Hilton Hotel. Although SEBC’s inaugural year was less than
successful, it was the beginning of the longest running regional trade
show in the Southeast!
1993
The Biggest and Best Show
In 15 short years, SEBC grew to be the most prominent
trade show in the Southeast, recruiting headliners such as
Lou Holtz, then Notre Dame head football coach, and Steve
Thomas, then TV star of This Old House.
1998
20th Anniversary
Celebrating its 20th Anniversary, SEBC showcased a sold out Expo
Hall, featuring over 600 exhibitors, opened its doors to an estimated
20,000 attendees, and hosted world renowned education sessions.
Most notable, SEBC was the place to experience Hurricane Alley - special
disaster-mitigation products.
2008
Charlie Daniels & Green Trends
In the middle of the housing market crisis, SEBC refused to
give way to the folding industry. It continued to offer top-notch
education sessions, successful networking events, and a full
Expo Hall. Though times were tough, those committed to
the building industry remained resilient; offering concerts by
Charlie Daniels and focusing on Green Trends.
2018
40th Anniversary
On the cusp of substantial success following the housing marketing crisis,
SEBC is proud to showcase a sold-out expo hall - expanding the hall 20%
each year - a 20% attendee growth, and more educational offerings. SEBC
continues to offer new, engaging networking events for the building
industry.
