Through the ArTEco project (Arctic Thruster Ecosystem), European
marine research institutes and companies, under the leadership of
VTT and Wärtsilä, worked together to increase thruster lifetimes,
decrease maintenance needs and boost over-all reliability –
particularly in extreme conditions on arctic seas.
