urun Teräskaluste Oy became familiar with stainless steel as
early as the 1960s. Operating in the immediate vicinity of Aker
Yards’ Turku shipyard, Turun Teräskaluste Oy (also known as TUTEKA) has been a part of Finland’s shipbuilding cluster since the
1970s. The company’s handiwork can be found on more than a
hundred vessels on the world’s seven seas. It also sells its products internationally and for ship repair and refurbishment projects.
The company’s products range from small decorative mouldings
to large-scale works of art, often combining stainless steel, glass
and other elements that are well-known to TUTEKA. Other everyday products are stairs, banisters and various fixed or movable
pieces of furniture. The main material is usually stainless steel, often with a mirror polish.
