For Cobb County and the
Atlanta Braves, Safety is First
From an outsider’s perspective, building a brand new stadium offers teams and municipalities a blank canvas to create a memorable, flawless fan experience. From ensuring that every seat has a perfect line of sight, to building amenities like rooftop cabanas that will make a new ballpark unique, the sky's the limit for fans and amateur architects alike.
For stadium professionals, however, the most important element of the fan experience is the ability to ensure fan safety. That’s why the Atlanta Braves and Cobb County, GA enlisted the help of a wireless carrier and ADRF to build a future-proof public safety communications network that increases mobility for stadium personnel and keeps them connected no matter where they are, even in an underground service tunnel.
While many venues have addressed this challenge by building the equivalent of “operator booths,” where support staff can plug in a phone to ports strategically located throughout an arena, the latest trend is public safety is to ensure blanket connectivity through wireless. In emergency settings, every second counts, and waiting for an employee to connect can be life or death.
Key requirements of the project include:
●100% coverage for every inch of the stadium, including subgrade facilities
●Redundancy in the event of technological failure
●Support for multiple bands
