Based in Minnesota, COMPAS Teaching Artists Titambe West African Dance Ensemble’ s mission is to preserve traditional African drumming and dance heritage as well as promote cultural understanding. In 1969 400,000 people gathered on a dairy farm northwest of New York City for the three-day festival known as Woodstock. That was fifty years ago, and now in this new Big Top show the Blue Canvas Orchestra pays tribute to the festival, to the artists, and to the spirit of the sixties that was epitomized by the legendary event.

Everyone that enjoys fresh air, clean water, and outdoor activities will appreciate this culturally infused dialogue. Learn about the many Ojibwe nation neighbors. Booths open at 6:00, the keynote is at 7:00, then pies will be served. The Grandmother Jingle Dress Puppet will also be on site.
