The Blue Canvas Orchestra ( BCO ) is Chautauqua ’ s house band that , together with co-founder and Visuals Director Betty Ferris , provides the entertainment engine that powers the Big Top . The BCO is comprised of Jane Aleckson , Phil Anich , Severin Behnen , Bruce Bowers , Bruce Burnside , Jack Gunderson , Tom Mitchell and Ed Willett and is regularly joined by special guest performers .
