While electrifying Cape Breton fiddler Natalie MacMaster has collaborated and performed with Alison Krauss, the Chieftans, Paul Simon, Pavarotti and Yo-Yo Ma, Donnell gained a reputation as the spirited and athletic leader of Leahy, the Ontario-based, eight-piece family band bearing his surname. When these two electrifying virtuosos married in 2002, it was a meshing of two of the greatest fiddle players in the world. Last year they helped us open the tent warming up the stage at break-neck speed for Trampled by Turtles. New to the Big Top is Cornmeal, a roots and bluegrass jam-band from Chicago, who is taking the festival scene by storm. Cornmeal is heavily influenced by American roots and folk music and seamlessly blends lightning fast tempos and impeccable harmonies into an unrivaled live performance. Blue Canvas Rewind Fri., June 20, 7:30 Tickets: Adults $ 22 / Ages 3-17 $ 11 Box Seats: $ 37 Join our famed resident band, The Blue Canvas Orchestra, as they break out the jukebox from some of their favorite musical groups of the 60s, 70s and 80s. The BCO will perform selections from some of their popular tribute shows like“ Moon Songs & Moon Shadows: The songs of Paul Simon & Cat Stevens;”“ Laurel Canyon 1970: Songs of The Eagles & Crosby Stills & Nash;”“ Ladies of the Canyon” with the music of Carole King and Joni Mitchell, and their Bob Dylan Retrospective, plus some numbers from“ Big Top Opry” that will feature the music from Nashville’ s heyday of Western music.
