Welcome to Lake Superior Big Top Chautauqua
Big Top Chautauqua was founded in 1986 with a mission of creating a sense of community and a connection to the life and history of the Chequamegon Bay area, the state of Wisconsin, and the Upper Midwest. We are a 501( c)( 3) not-for-profit organization that boasts over 27 years of producing and presenting“ year-round cultural activities that are both entertaining and educational with emphasis on excellent performances that celebrate history and the environment.” We perform during the summer in a 900-seat all canvas tent at the base of Mt. Ashwabay just south of Bayfield. We also perform on tour throughout the region, and over the airwaves on Tent Show Radio.
Big Top Recognized as Tourism Industry Leader
In March, Big Top was awarded the Arts, Culture and Heritage Award by Governor Walker.
