Overall, I think my assignment went well. I think the things I did well were my comparing eras video, my get the looks and the Gucci ad campaign; these were also the things that I enjoyed doing the most.
My comparing eras video was the most enjoyable part of my whole assignment as I loved getting to do further research into my favourite eras and finding outfits in different stores that represented those eras. I also liked creating the Gucci ad campaign with Chloe and think we planned effectively to create a good video, although to improve it I would make it longer. Through completing these videos, I think I have definitely improved my video editing skills which I think is something that will carry me through my time at the FRA. With the get the looks, I set myself the challenge to complete a get the look for every era. This was difficult at first and I often put off doing it, however I think that it payed off and I am pleased I chose to challenge myself.
I think that I managed my time better with the bigger chunks of work, I had all of my articles and bigger pieces completed well before the deadline because I followed my smart targets carefully with these, however smaller pieces such as the layout of pages or adding in some of the news of the days that were not documented in my smart targets I let get on top of me and was left with a long to do list of minor tasks on the day of the deadline which is something that lead me to being a bit stressed out on the day of the deadline so I will definitely learn from this and make sure I make room for smaller tasks in the next assignment.
Something I would also improve in my next assignment is not putting off tasks, especially in my sketchbook as the ones that were a bit more rushed are the pages that I am not happy with. I am also unhappy with the first magazine style pages of my sketchbook as I feel they are too bare and too text heavy, to improve this I changed the layout of my sketchbook to more of a collage which I definitely prefer to the previous pages in my sketchbook.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed doing this assignment, even if it did get a bit more difficult towards the end as it was so interesting to learn about different retailers and fashion in history which is something I did not know a lot about before.
