Diandra Aruna Mahira (Indonesia) Hails from Yogyakarta, Indonesia, Diandra Aruna Mahira (She was born in Manchester, UK, 1 March 2005) is a young classical guitarist. She first started playing the classical guitar at 8 years old with Maestro Anton Asmonodento the Indonesia guitar teacher. When she was 9, she continued with Cressentia Murniastuti. As she wanted to pursue more seriously her interest in classical guitar, in 2015 Aruna started to learn from Rahmat Raharjo. She now takes frequent master-classes with Kevin Loh. Aruna has joined a number of classical guitar competitions, both national and international. Among her achievements, she was awarded 1st place at the 5th Valerio International Guitar Festival and Competition in 2017, Junior B Category, 2nd place at the Tarrega Malaysia International Guitar Festival in 2017, Junior Category, 1st place at the National Classical Guitar Competition (KGKN) in 2017, Junior Category and 1st place at the 2018 Southeast Asia Young Artist and Performance Awards, Thailand. Aruna has also performed at several concerts and events; she was the opening performance for the Jakarta Fundraising Night by Paris Guitar Foundation with Augustin Pesnon and David Sylvester in Jakarta, performed as Duo Anantara at the "Amazing 60 Years Indonesia & Japan - Classical Guitar Concert" in Tokyo, Japan, to name a few. Aruna has also launched an album titled 12 as a portfolio of the repertoires she once learnt and played throughout 2014-2016. She has passed Grade 1, 2 and 5 ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music) with Distinction and is also listed has a High Scorer. Other than guitar, Aruna plays piano and learns vocal, too.
