Join Timeless Melodies for Broadway in the 1940s , perhaps the most exciting decade in the history of the Great White Way . During the war , patrons sought escape from the musicals of Cole Porter , Irving Berlin , and Lerner & Loewe . The 40s introduced audiences to a new team , Rodgers & Hammerstein with Oklahoma !, Carousel and South Pacific .
