Tell us THE COVER ART, Who is the ar st?, How to fuel the crea ve process?
The artwork was done by the Italian ar st Federico Muse. He, Tom and Martl did a lot email correspondence and it was a slow floa ng progress un l it was finished, but I think he did a great job! You have to check his work out, this guy is awesome!
1-Tell us what happened a er the CD " SLAUGTERING THOUGHTS ", did you get the answer you expected, extreme fans and press?
Well, Slaughtering Thoughts came out a few weeks a er I officially le the Band and Martl took my place, but I can say the guys( and me too) never expected what happened then. Lots of posi ve feedback, a lot of bookings for concerts, a European tour with Cryptopsy … is was like a Avalanche for us, but it was awesome!
2- Tell us about the recording you are preparing? And what can we expect? And what Tell us about the recording and mixing, with whom are they doing? And how are things in studio with new work?
Right now we started the recordings for a full length Cd. Again we will do the recordings ourselves, just like we did for the EP. I think when the recordings will be finished we will ask Cristoph Brandes again to master and mix it. He did a great job with our EP and we would be very happy if we could get him again. I won ´ t tell to much, but you can expect very Badass stuff on a technically high level, typical for Profanity. And we are very, very excited to come back and break out with new stuff, I can tell you … a lot of work.
3- What is the name of the job? And you already have defined the cover, what can we expect from this new work?
The Cd will be called“ THE ART OF SICKNESS” but we don ´ t have a cover yet. I can ´ t tell at the moment who will be our next cover ar st, but we are in contact with a few big names in the business, be prepared for something very cool.
But one thing I remember, I was very skep cal to do this on a vinyl disc, because I couldn ´ t believe that there were people who s ll had a record player! Now I ´ m a wiser man …. hahaha
7- Concerts are important; we can say on the presenta ons, shows, tours, fes vals, are there any experiences?
4- Tell us about " SHADOWS FALL TO " received the response you expected by the press?
When“ SHADOWS TO FALL” came out … well to be honest, we all were incredibly proud, it was our first CD we did together. But also we were very nervous, because no one of us was sure about the reac on of the people. The really funny thing was that the most reac ons were about the cover, not about the music. But most of the reac ons, of the people and the press were posi ve. Now, almost 15 years later, I ´ m s ll very proud of this thing, even if I think we could have doing a few things be er, but … naaaaa, it ´ s cool!
Yeah, I think concerts are the most important thing in this business, it ´ s the only way to interact directly with the people. We are about to play a few fes vals in Austria and Switzerland end of this year, and we have already bookings for a few gigs in Germany next year. What can be expected? Who knows.....? Hahaha … anyway, we always try to give the audience a great me and a good show, in fact we work our asses off for that. That ' s the only experience we can promise.
8 How are the scene in his AUGSBURG, GERMANY BAVARIA area and the scene? And what are your favorite bands?
There are a lot of great Bands here in Augsburg or across Germany anyway, but you can say the more you get in the north of Germany the be er are your chances to get BIG gigs. In Bavaria all got a li le bit difficult the past years, don ´ t really know why. You really have to try harder here in the south. Our favorite bands here? Wow, difficult, because there are so many bands … for the german scene I personally have to name Obscenity, Purgatory and Dew Scented.
5-Well that led to have a theme for CHUCK AND DEATH " ZOMBIE RITUAL " What influence does the DEATH for PROFANITY band?
Yeah, Death is, was and always will be one of our favorite Bands and one of the biggest influence and inspira on. When Chuck died all of us had a few bad weeks. About that me we decided to do a few DEATH cover songs, and from that moment ZOMBIE RITUAL was a part of every single Profanity rehearsal. Un l now we start every session in our prac ce room with that song. The decision to do a recording of a new interpreta on of this song was only a step further. 6-With LIVIDITY " DROWNED IN DUSK SPLIT How were things?
I really don ´ t remember any more who came up with that idea. But I think it was our label at that moment( Cudgel) who managed to do this split EP.
