TUSA Intega Mask
Japanese manufacturer TUSA has come a long way since their humble beginnings in 1952 , when founder Kazuo Tabata knocked up his first hand-made masks and goggles in his garage .
TUSA ’ s latest offering , the twin-lens Intega , utilises every advantage that 21st century technology has to offer . Using a 3D scanning process , the company ’ s designers measured key points on the faces of a cross-section of subjects .
Data , including the position of the eyes , nose and cheekbones was fed into the equation and subsequently used to produce a 3D model suitable for a wide section of diver-kind .
My average-shaped face has yet to come across a mask that I could say has been a really bad fit . Some may be less comfortable than others , but on the whole you can chuck a mask my way and it ’ ll usually do the job .
All the same , some masks are an absolute pleasure to dive , and the Intega is definitely in this category . TUSA ’ s patented 3D Sync technology features a soft , silicone fitting ring , built-in to the mask ’ s skirt . This flexible material provided a flawless and comfortable seal on my face , in addition to some fellow divers who also tried it out , once it had been suitably sanitised , of course .
The mask strap , also silicone , gripped the back of my head well , and the low-profile buckles with pinch-clip adjustment proved simple and easy to adjust . Once I had it adjusted to my liking , there was more than enough elasticity to slip it on and off without any further adjustment .
The mask ’ s low profile and tilt-angled lenses gave an excellent , wide angle of view and my choice of black skirt from a plethora of different colour schemes , was reflectionfree and ideal for camera work .
Another huge benefit for purchasers of the Intega is the ability to take customfitted prescription lenses from -1.0 to -8.0 in 0.5 increments . This straightforward DIY process can be completed in minutes by unclipping the bridging section between the two lenses and simply removing , then replacing the relevant lens . NH

Can it really be 25 years ago since co-founders Dean Garraffa and Doug Toth launched premium-brand Atomic Aquatics ’ ground-breaking Titanium T3 regulator ?
To celebrate , Atomic are producing a limited-edition , highly-evolved version of their signature T3 , in the guise of their T25 Anniversary regulator .
Manufactured from solid bars of titanium Ti-6Al-4V alloy and machined to the manufacturer ’ s exacting standards , the T25 has been given an eye-catching new coating .
