Investigating the bow
ross coral and pink sea fans .
Arriving at the bow you are immediately tempted to swim around inside her , but be aware . Take a look up at the large amount of heavy rusty chain supported by a rather old deck . You may opt to stay on the outside and head around the bow rather than the short cut through the middle of it . As you navigate around the bow stem , you ’ ll notice that it curves up past the remaining superstructure , marking how far the bow would have extended once upon a time .
Heading back to the stern , you pass over a distinct large bollard on the centre line ; and just off the centre line there are a couple of holes that give you a glimpse
into the part of the wreck that is now effectively below the level of the seabed .
All too soon , you will find yourself back at the boiler and stern . Given that the wreck is only the length of two swimming pools this shouldn ’ t come as a surprise , but for some reason the proportions of the flattened areas make it feel like a bigger wreck .
