Engineering from the 1860s , possibly supports for gauges
DEEPWRECKDETECTIVES
It became apparent that this was not one engine but two , with pieces stacked on each other , and that there had been major disruption to the site . Underneath the wreckage there was evidence of a ship , a section of hull , some deck timbers , ropes and a bollard . So it was clear that the trains were being transported on a ship , a sailing vessel as there was no engine / boiler but what ship was it and what happened ?
Sadly , a time came when we had to ascend but this did give us time to reflect on what we had seen . Was this the mysterious ‘ trainset ’ Dave had been looking for , or something else ? How did two trains get to be on the seabed and what had happened to cause so much damage ?
These were questions that were going through our minds as we decompressed . On the surface the information that we all has was pooled and the details of the engine plate shared . It wouldn ’ t be until Dave ’ s further investigations in the National Archives that we would have all the answers .
