Back in Torbay for New Year : Feather star scene with MWL ( left ); lone feather star with 60mm lens ( right ); a selfie with the MWL converter ( below )
After two days of enjoyable diving it was time to head back to Devon on Christmas Eve . New Year ’ s Day is the one day of the year that members of Torbay BSAC are allowed to dive the harbour to take a closer look at the D-Day embarkation ramps and pontoons . Every year we go down the day before , check the conditions and try to decide between macro and wide-angle camera set-ups . This new lens meant I no longer needed to choose .
Let ’ s face it : this lens is not cheap . But its size and the fact that it opens up many more photo opportunities makes it a better option for me than the 17-70mm Sigma zoom lens . This is the bit of kit that divers with DSLRs have been waiting for .
