How the Heinke Trophy can boost your branch
WITH 30 NOVEMBER THE CLOSING DATE to register for the Heinke Trophy 2027, previous award winners have offered their own personal experiences to inspire your club to enter.
Since 1958, the Heinke Trophy has been a cornerstone of the BSAC community, celebrating the achievements and dedication of its scuba and snorkelling clubs. Each year, the winning BSAC club not only receives the coveted Heinke Trophy but also receives £ 1,000 to spend on their club activities. BSAC’ s premier club award can also have a long-lasting impact.

How to Take Part – Heinke Trophy 2027
You will need to register your club’ s interest in entering the Heinke Trophy by 30 November 2026 at the latest. Once registered, your club will need to:
■ Access one-to-one mentoring as soon as you apply to help plan your application year journey in 2027
■ Record and document your club’ s activities from 1 Jan – 31 Dec 2027
■ Submit your final report by 31 January 2028
The Heinke Trophy 2027 winner will be announced in Spring 2028.

THE INTERNATIONAL HISTORY OF DIVING Conference returns to Gosport this November for three days‘ deep diving’ into the past.
Organised by the Historical Diving Society since 1990, the conference will take place
8 from 13 to 15 November at the Institute of Naval Medicine( INM). As well as a packed conference programme on the Saturday( 14 November) and evening dinner, the three-day event will also include visits to the INM library( 13 November) and the recently re-opened Diving Museum( 15 November).
Presentations include a Neanderthal site off the coast of France, Naval Diving Research at INM, the Laurentic’ s gold, 18th century salvors, and a unique 19th century piece of diving equipment.
