Anne Morrison is a prolific volunteer, working tirelessly to bring the underwater world to anyone interested in diving or snorkelling. Interview by Kristina Pedder

First dive: Stoney Cove, 1994
Anne Morrison, Mozza to her friends, decided to take lifesaving classes in the evenings at her local swimming pool. She noticed that the local dive club was next in the pool and got talking to them. Then, while working as a barmaid at the club’ s Christmas dinner, she saw slides of divers raising Armada cannon on the west coast of Ireland in about half a metre of viz; and she was hooked. After nine years at Scarborough Sub Aqua Club, in 2013 Anne became a founder member of South Bay Scuba( BSAC 2516).
Now an Advanced Diver, Open Water Instructor, Diver Coxswain, Snorkelling Instructor and Side-mount Diver, Anne has never lost her enthusiasm for volunteering at her club.
Her postal address is a flat in Scarborough, but Anne spends quite a bit of the time on her boat in Hartlepool Marina. Outside of the diving season she’ s even more of a nomad, house and pet sitting anywhere in the UK, alongside being a bookkeeper. In her words, she’ s semi-retired.
