BSAC diver Mae Dorricott has played a key role in telling the remarkable story of the Banggai cardinalfish in the recent BBC1 series, Parenthood. Documenting the trials that animals undertake while raising their young, Parenthood was filmed over three years and on six continents, covering jungle, grasslands, deserts, and the ocean.
Produced by Silverback Films, the company behind the recent David Attenborough feature-length film, Oceans, Parenthood has captured the imagination of its audiences.
And as underwater researcher on‘ Ocean’, the second episode in the stunning wildlife series, Mae has credited her time on the programme as‘ the job of a lifetime’.
Having spent three years helping to create the Ocean episode, Southport BSAC member Mae reflected on her extraordinary experience.
