What have been the highlights after all this time ?
Paul : More absurd than a highlight , Brighton owned a hard boat with a high gunwale , and we had a particularly small French exchange student diving with us . He was about to be sick and couldn ’ t reach the top of the railing , so I had to lift him up and over the side . I never thought I ’ d have to dangle a chundering diver over the side of a boat .
Eric : It has to be diving with whale sharks , manta rays and … seahorses . Bob : Moving over to ( entry level ) technical diving and video photography .
Where is your favourite place to dive ?
Eric : Anywhere on the South Coast or a liveaboard in the Red Sea . Bob : Anywhere from Penzance to the Scillies , Oban / Mull and Scapa Flow . The
Red Sea for marine life and Truk Lagoon or Norway for the wrecks . Paul : The whole of the English Channel , from East Sussex to Cornwall . There are hundreds of wrecks , and impressive reefs . I also enjoy diving in the Southern Red Sea .
What was your best dive ?
Bob : Spending an hour inside the engine room of the Shinkoku Maru in Truk Lagoon , at 40m . This was a Zen-like experience – so
