Tell us about the staff …
The nine centre staff are all BSAC divers , Dive Leaders and instructors ranging from Theory and Practical Instructor to National Instructor . It is the centre ’ s policy to offer guided diving to both experienced divers and those having their first dives . The cheerful , kind and friendly Korean staff are always on hand to help out and as you find throughout Korea there is always someone about who speaks great English , should you need it .
What training do you do ?
The centre trains between 20 and 30 Ocean Divers a year . Theory training takes place in the dive shop , while the on-site pool provides the sheltered water environment . Openwater training is completed on local shore dives , which have easy access to the water via broad concrete steps .
When is the best time to visit Jeju for diving ?
If you are thinking of visiting Jeju Island , the north coast offers the better diving in the winter months , and the south coast is the best option in the summer . However as for all Korean diving , you might want to avoid the unpredictable typhoon months of July and August altogether . [ Kristina suspects that the summer heat and humidity would make life in a dive suit a bit uncomfortable .]
Who visits the centre ?
In the spring and autumn , experienced divers travel to Coba Dive for fun dives on the local reefs . In winter , local divers take advantage of the quieter times . There are plenty of snorkelling customers , and a large part of the business is to provide try dives
