THE HELFORD ESTUARY IN CORNWALL IS A STUNNINGLY beautiful and peaceful place . Part of a Special Area of Conservation that also includes the better-known Fal Estuary , the Helford was designated as a Marine Conservation Zone in 2019 and was a voluntary marine conservation area long before that , in recognition of its special biodiversity . It is certainly a fitting location for an ‘ On the spot ’ piece where I look at the species you can see in a single photograph . I hope this image gives a hint of the Helford ’ s richness .
