Heinke Trophy 2021 – Postponed BSAC HAS TAKEN THE DECISION TO POSTPONE THIS YEAR ’ S Heinke Trophy due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic .
The Heinke Trophy was launched back in 1958 as BSAC ’ s premier award and is presented every year to the club considered to have done the most to further the interests of their diving and BSAC .
With Covid-19 restrictions severely impacting on club diving and activities throughout last year , Heinke adjudicator Phil Harrison said making the decision to put the award on hold was the appropriate thing to do .
“ 2020 was a very tough year and the ability for us to get out diving has suffered as a result .
The adjudicators also considered that there were differing guidelines across the UK regarding access to pools and sites that we all need to abide by and BSAC wants to be visible in supporting ways to limit the spread of Covid-19 .
“ Bearing all this in mind , we have decided to postpone this year ’ s Heinke Trophy .”

SCUBA returns to bi-monthly print
SCUBA HAS SUCCESSFULLY RETURNED TO ITS PRINT format , with the March issue the first of its bi-monthly print run available for BSAC members .
Following a 10-month hiatus when the magazine became a monthly digital issue to weather the impact of the pandemic , SCUBA is now back as a print magazine , issued every two months and alternating with a digital issue .
BSAC CEO Mary Tetley welcomed the move to print SCUBA bimonthly .
“ We know members have been missing the printed SCUBA and , while we are not yet able to return to a monthly print issue , it ’ s bi-monthly return is a step in the right direction ,” Mary added .
Members who wish to continue with the digital version can still opt-in to receive iSCUBA every month if preferred . To choose a monthly digital issue of SCUBA , go
