Feel like a university challenge ?

BSAC IS LOOKING FOR A NEW University Coordinator to support , encourage and retain student members .
To help with the unique challenges that student membership presents , the University Coordinator will also work to empower BSAC ’ s younger members to participate in the development of the organisation .
The ideal candidate for the role will have experience of being in a uni club and should have graduated within the last few years . They will also be an active diver with an understanding of BSAC ’ s organisational structure , in order to advise and support university clubs .
Why do we need a University Coordinator ?
University clubs face some distinct challenges , which this person will be able to help solve , such as :
■ Three-year cycle - the very nature of university means a high churn rate for club members when studies are finished
■ Inexperience - many uni club committee members , instructors and dive leaders are young people who have not been part of the club system before
■ Limited finance - transport and club funds are often an issue
■ Regional teams - a single point-ofcontact will make it easier to support uni clubs at a regional level
■ Proactive instead of reactive - better oversight of issues affecting uni clubs before they escalate .
With many BSAC members discovering diving for the first time with their university club , investing time in their BSAC experience can also support the growth of the wider BSAC club network .
Interested ?
If you – or someone you know within the BSAC network – fits the bill and are interested in finding out more about the University Coordinator role , we want to hear from you .
