Tiny worlds

The observation that everything seems somehow more beautiful underwater certainly holds true of sea slugs , which eclipse their garden cousins in colour and form . Ranging in size from a barely visible 1mm to 60cm ( two feet !), the range of subspecies is simply dazzling . Pictured is a tiny Nembrotha kubaryana , also known as the variable neon slug or the dusky nembrotha . Barely 2cm long , photographer Saeed Rashid snapped it using a close-up macro lens augmented by a supermacro supplemental lens for added magnification . This species has been observed feeding on the green-ringed ascidian , Sigillina signifera .
