Scoob & Snork – a new Fest

BSAC CENTRE DIVERSTIME IS ALL SET to host a brand-new regional diving festival at Nottingham-based Spring Lakes Watersports Centre on Saturday, 12 July.
Supported by BSAC’ s East Midlands Regional Team, the very first Midlands Scoob & Snork Fest will take over the West Lake of Spring Lakes in Long Eaton, for a packed day of activities, both in and out of the water.
As well as try dives, rebreather tasters, and snorkel sessions, kit manufacturers Apeks and Dynamic Nord will be on hand to chat through the latest scuba and snorkel gear, while VIP guest, SCUBA’ s own snorkel guru Andy Torbet will also be there. There will also be a DJ and food stalls, as well as a raffle, including prizes donated by Cressi, Suunto, Fourth Element and Beauchat.
Diverstime’ s Mark Griffin, who opened the new BSAC centre at the Spring Lakes venue in 2023, said he hoped the Scoob & Snork Fest would become an annual event.
“ The festival will be a great opportunity for BSAC members to get together as well as see the new Spring Lakes venue and share our enthusiasm for all things scuba and snorkelling. It promises to be a great day.”
Walk-in entry to the Midlands Scoob & Snork Fest is £ 5 per person, or £ 20 for divers using the lake. Full details of the event can be found at www. Diverstime. com

Now in its third year, the NW Dive Fest will take place on Friday, 3 October at Capernwray Diving Centre near Lancaster. Organised by the North West Regional Team, the festival is open to all BSAC divers as well as divers from other agencies.

There will also be the opportunity to find out more about CCR and scooters, with taster sessions scheduled throughout the day. Add in an underwater treasure hunt, a photo competition, auction, raffle, and music from DJ Cosche, and the NW Dive Fest 2025 is shaping up to be something special, said North West Regional Coach Stephen Dorricott.
“ We’ re delighted with how the Dive Fest has taken off. It’ s all about having a fun dive day, whether you’ re hunting for gold bars, whizzing around on scooters, or just chatting to exhibitors, there’ s something for everyone.
This isn’ t just for North West clubs and members. It’ s an open invitation to all qualified divers— we’ d love to see you there!”
