Mark Paisey meets some of the people behind BSAC Egypt , and asks how they can support UK-based clubs
BSAC divers have a long tradition of Red Sea diving , as John Adam ’ s feature in this issue of SCUBA demonstrates . BSAC Egypt has achieved a significant proportion of the snorkelling market and is looking to build on this success by challenging for a larger share of the diving market . A local instructor trainer was a key enabler to achieving so many BSAC snorkellers and it is hoped that a diving instructor trainer will facilitate the same outcome for diving .
Lead Instructor Omar Dweek believes that high standards set the BSAC offering apart : “ You can see the difference in quality with BSAC training compared to other agencies . And the affordable costs mean we can easily attract new instructors . We now need to convince dive centre owners to sell BSAC courses . Placing newly qualified BSAC instructors in these centres will help achieve this .”
Business manager Yasser Ragab says that BSAC Egypt can offer seamless support to UK clubs , all in a familiar BSAC training environment . “ Anyone wanting either training or diving in Hurgharda should contact me to discuss their requirements . We offer an airport meet and greet , transfer , accommodation , equipment , BSAC instructors , day and liveaboard boats at less expensive rates than anyone can arrange from the UK .

Designed to support branches with their training , the model is that new members join your branch , train at the centre , then return to your branch as qualified divers .
