Blue 02 enters administration
BSAC TRAVEL PARTNER BLUE O2 Limited has ceased trading after going into administration on 15 November . However , the Blue o Two brand is set to continue under Scuba Tours Worldwide Ltd .
Trading as Blue O Two , Blue O2 Ltd was founded back in 2003 and ran popular liveaboards across the Red Sea and other key worldwide destinations , including the Maldives , Thailand , and the Philippines .
In a statement posted on their website , the Plymouth-based company acknowledged Covid-19 as the greatest challenge they had faced in 18 years of trading . Although the company has ceased trading as Blue O2 Ltd , the Blue O Two brand is now set to live on under Scuba Tours Worldwide and will continue to operate as a dive tour operator , working with the same staff team .
At the time of going to press , it is understood that certain holiday bookings made with Blue O2 Limited ( trading as Blue O Two ) that have not yet departed may be subject to cancellation . However , it is believed that the majority of holidaymakers ’ travel arrangements will be covered through one of a number of different types of financial protection .
In their statement , Blue O Two have stressed that their customers are their priority .
“ We are doing our very best to ensure everyone gets contacted as soon as possible . We are tackling this chronologically by departure date . We appreciate this will be frustrating for those of you with live bookings . Please bear with us through this challenging time .”
Two shows become one
THE UK ’ S TWO RIVAL DIVE SHOWS ARE merging into one , to be held on 4-6 March 2022 at the NAEC Stoneleigh , a new venue . The Go Diving Show and The Dive Show had been vying to be the first big post-Covid diving event in the UK , but the matter was settled when Eaton Publications ( which also ran the 30-year-old Dive Show ) ceased trading recently . Now , the older show has been subsumed into Go Diving , which retains its title . godivingshow . com
Yasmine ’ s university challenge
BSAC HAS WELCOMED ITS NEW University Coordinator to the Coaching team , with Leeds-based member Yasmine Thorn stepping into the role .
Currently Chair of Leeds University Union Sub Aqua Club ( LUUSAC ), Yasmine replaces outgoing University Coordinator , Alex Bicheno .
Working to BSAC ’ s National Diving Committee ( NDC ) and its University Project group , the aim of the University Coordinator is to set up a regional network of university coaches to ensure the university club network gets the support it needs .
An Open Water Instructor , Yasmine has been diving since 2012 and joined BSAC in 2016 during her university fresher year . She is now looking forward to building on the foundations laid by the outgoing University Coordinator to create more targeted and accessible support .

Getting ahead at Vobster

Yasmine said the first thing she planned to do in her new BSAC role is to reach out to all the university clubs and find out what they need .
“ I want uni clubs to know my door is always open , whether you ’ re a member or committee member or prospective member . I will always be here to listen to your views , work with you to find solutions to problems , celebrate successes or just have a friendly chat !”
