The compact , lightweight Peanut 16 wing from Tecline is a traveller ’ s dream . Consisting of an asymmetric wing paired with an aluminium H plate , a single tank adapter and Tecline ’ s comfort harness , the whole kit and caboodle only weighs in at around 3kg dry .
The 16 litre capacity wing itself is of double-layered construction and available in a variety of different colours . The inner bladder is manufactured from PU-240 with a robust Cordura 1000D outer shell . A Kevlar version is also available .
Shaped wider in the central and lower sections , it allows for heads-up flotation at the surface . This feature also lends itself well to a streamlined , horizontal orientation in the water . A triangular extension at the top
of the wing provides optimal positioning for dumping air via the inflator while also avoiding interference with the first stage . The aluminium ‘ H ’ backplate is shaped specifically to cut down on unnecessary weight while still providing structural integrity to support both the wing and its single cylinder . A selection of different capacity weight pouches is also available as add-ons to the setup if required .
The left-sided kidney dump valve is easily accessed and once adjusted to fit , the wide webbing harness complete with crotch strap , quick-release buckle and conveniently-placed D-rings ensures everything stays in place .

The English brand , Swiss-made C60 Atoll 300 is available in two colour variations : shark white and a quite stunning reef blue . With a diameter of 40mm and height of 11mm it is both compact and slimline ; such lightweight dimensions make it just as suitable for dining out as it is for diving .
Depth-rated to 300 metres , the brushed and polished stainless steel case features an anti-reflective sapphire crystal . The striking blue version ’ s lacquered dial is graduated from dark to light , with luminous hands and indexes .
The 26-jewel Sellita SW200 anti-shock , self-winding automatic mechanism has a 38-hour reserve and an also features a transparent case back to allow a fascinating peek at its inner workings .
The Atoll ’ s sandblasted unidirectional bezel features raised numerals / indexes and moves nicely around the circumference of its crystal with a series of reassuring clicks .
Once in the water the face , the Atoll 300 is very easy to read ; the luminosity of the indices gives excellent contrast against the blue face in low light or darkness .
