Clasina has a great stern

The success of the Argonauts 2022 trip to locate and identify the wreck of HMS Jason , off Coll in Scotland , fortified a few essential aspects for expeditionary wreck diving .

We had a superb Diving Support Vessel , DSV Clasina , along with a knowledgeable and competent skipper , Bob Anderson and competent and experienced crew . We also benefitted from a reliable and detail orientated research team , in our case Kevin Heath who along with his fiancée , Wendy Sadler , run lostinwatersdeep . co . uk Finally , we had team members well capable of doing the diving required , taking the photos and videos in a relatively confined space for several days .
Expedition - Lost in Waters Deep 2023 made the most of these strengths in our quest to find , dive and identify two Royal Navy vessels .
HMS Hoste , a Parker-type Destroyer , had steering issues when , on 21 December 1916 , HMS Negro collided into her stern . This action caused the detonation of two depth charges , causing damage to HMS Negro , which sunk shortly afterwards with the loss of 51 officers and crew .
