Kristina Pedder interviews a South Wales BSAC club that created a new training facility when its pool venue closed for lockdown
During the first national lockdown for Covid-19 Rhondda Sub Aqua Club lost its pool session , but was granted permission to use a lake at Glyn Neath for training . With their typical get-up-and-go attitude , members built a training platform and sank it , and they are still using the lake for training .
The club has retained all of its members and in fact increased membership during 2020 . In December , pool training started again under tight Covid 19 rules . Now the club wants to run more courses , go diving , organise club trips across the UK and overseas and increase its membership further . With this in mind it is taking advantage of the BSAC offer to construct a new club website , so don ’ t be surprised if you visit and get the message , “ We ’ re currently working on our new website …”
Where are you based ?
