The largest marine protected area in Indonesia, Cenderawasih Bay is a
haven for more than 1,000 species of fish and hundreds of species of
coral. But divers and underwater photographers come for something even
bigger: whale sharks. These graceful leviathans, the planet’s biggest fish,
have become regulars here, hanging out around the local fishermen’s
floating fishing platforms to vacuum up a tasty sardine snack. SDOP
