The British Isles do not obviously lend themselves
to pitching up anywhere and diving anytime.
After all, this small country has a reputation for
unreliable weather. Yet, after a little research and
with an adventurous spirit, there are many miles of
exciting, beautiful and relatively remote coastlines
to explore both over and underwater.
Without doubt Scotland offers the best
opportunities for shore diving, particularly the
sheltered sea lochs on the west coast. Here, there
is guaranteed diving with surprisingly good visibility
at most times of year and a wonderful world of
wildlife one would never imagine was there.
