DAY 3 : Scalpay
I was invited to join the scuba divers on the RIBs and we headed for Hushinish Bay , however on arrival it was too choppy so we headed off for Scalpay . I was dropped off at a wall to explore and do some filming . There were lots of interesting rock structures and swim-throughs . Of course , I can ’ t duck dive in a drysuit even with weights , so I just bobbed about at the surface . Hamish and Lewis , a father and son team , reported seeing an octopus at 15 metres .
I saw many brown jellyfish , a first for me , and I also had a go at driving the club ’ s RIB , which was a fantastic experience . After the first dive , I was dropped off at shore to get some aerial shots . It was a very satisfying day .
DAY 4 : Hushinish
I decided to return to Hushinish . The water was still very choppy as I made my way down the slip , and the waves caused me to bob up and down like a cork . One of the thrills of snorkelling is getting moshed by the waves ; it can be a little scary , but is enjoyable when you let the sea take over .
I had a slight panic when my right fin became loose . After taking a few breaths , I needed to put the GoPro in my pocket so that I could use both hands to secure it . After the panic was over I realised that I was lying on top of kelp fields and was perhaps in danger of getting trapped so I finned back out to sea as quickly as I could until I was free of the kelp .
I shot another snorkel vlog and headed back for shore . On the way back to the house , we stopped at the nearby beach to admire the gentle blue waters and perfect white sands ; it looked like a scene from abroad .
That evening we celebrated two birthdays among the team by having a meal at the Harris Hotel . I was asked if I might like to join the scuba divers the next day and I agreed , but I overslept in the morning and missed the trip .
DAY 5 : Carragraich Bay
Instead , we headed off to the other house , which happened to be the location of another snorkel trail . We recorded another vlog and then realised that I couldn ’ t see the entry point . A slight panic rose up and I started finning hard . The problem is that when the tide falls you can ’ t see over the rocks . We
