of butterflyfish, damselfish, bannerfish, fusiliers, and more. On our safety stop a passing manta danced before us. I didn’ t want to leave. Everything here seems more plentiful, more vibrant; just more.
I hugely enjoyed a private speedboat trip across glassy-blue morning seas to snorkel with manta rays. On our return, we passed a pod of dolphins close enough to hear them breathe. I also caught a trip on the futuristic glass-bottomed boat that had arrived just a week or so before me.
Haali Bar on the beach provided a magical sunset on my final night. Next morning, I left in another tropical downpour, wishing I hadn’ t waited 20 years to return.
Glass bottom boats are state of the art

Public transport
Why walk when there’ s a‘ bus’ service, with bus shelters and screens showing real-time locations of the golf buggies. There’ s a Dhigali App so that you can see what’ s on at any time. Best of all there’ s a café serving coffee and delightful milkshakes made with the island’ s ice creams.
Mantas can be seen year-round at Dhigali
