North Sea Odyssey

In the first of a two-part feature , Steve Dover tells the story of an epic two-week voyage taking in the North Sea ’ s most spectacular dive sites

Of the thousands of divers who dive UK waters , few get the opportunity to be part of such an awesome adventure as we did last summer . Planned for two weeks aboard Bob Anderson ’ s liveaboard – the converted trawler MV Clasina – 11 of us covered 1,118 nautical miles and dived some of the wildest and remote waters of Scotland ’ s far north and west coastline . On trips such as these , while diving is the main focus , it ’ s not just about the diving . It ’ s about the people , the boat , the weather , the overwhelming raw beauty of the scenery and the overall adventure . We experienced all of that as well as the world-class diving .
