Scribes with Scrolls Scrolls of Love | Page 40

my older two children have a heart for special needs children in our network and church. My oldest son, now almost 17 years old, serves as a buddy for children like Little Man in our Sunday School program. My husband has been able to open dialogue with colleagues about children who struggle. I run a focus group for parents like me.

While he does not fit in well with aggressive children his age, Little Man, despite his own difficulties, has a calming presence about him that puts many of his other struggling friends at ease. He loves big!

Little Man is incredibly imaginative, empathetic, and smart. While he knows it doesn’t work so well for the school day, he likes the un-medicated version of his mind better for brainstorming, creating, and multitasking. Loving all things animal and plant, he wants to work with bats someday.

Personally, we think he’d be great with people, but those bats sure would be lucky to have him!

2 Corinthians 12:9-10, ESV

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness."

Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities.

For when I am weak,

then I am

strong.
