Instead of magnifying our problems and issues, we should look up and magnify God. More often than not, when we pray, we talk to God about what our problems are - as we should. However, we forget that if we are to follow in Christ’s footsteps, we should also talk to our mountains: In Matthew 17:20, we are told:

He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”

And in Mark 11:14, we are told that when Jesus encountered a problem, he spoke to it.

Then he said to the tree, “May no one ever eat fruit from you again.” And his disciples heard him say it.

We need to learn to talk to our problems and tell them about God. We need to declare God’s blessings and remind ourselves that God is bigger than every mountain and every issue. He is the all powerful God with no equal. Our faith increases when we hear the word of God, and our problems dry up when we speak the word of God to them. We need to learn to speak to our problems and mountains.

So, I end the same way I started. When you have a problem or situation that seems like it is overwhelming, where are you looking?
