u SB What drew you to illustration? Melissa: Creating and
communicating through arts was something I’ve always done
from a very early age. u SB Do you have any formal design
training? Melissa: I graduated from the Faculty of Visual Arts
(UANL) in 2010 with a degree in Graphic Design. u SB Where
are you from? Melissa: Monterrey, Mexico. u SB Where is your
studio and can you describe it for me? Melissa: I have a studio
at my house, I prefer a cosy atmosphere to work till late. It’s
full of stuff that inspires me. u SB Who or what is your biggest
inspiration? Melissa: Friends and music. u SB How do you get
your ideas? Melissa: I’m very inspired by music and old decades,
sometimes I think I was born in the wrong time period. Also by
travelling and the illusion of living my everyday life in a new city.
u SB Do you collect anything? Melissa: I love fashion magazines,
I have piles and piles of them. u SB Do you keep a scrapbook?
Melissa: I keep notebooks with favourite images and stuff from
my travels. u SB What are your interests outside of illustration?
Melissa: I really enjoy taking photos with my analogue camera,
