u SB What drew you to illustration? Vic: As a kid I drew my
imagination, I remember drawing how the brain works, with wee
people and switches and pumps all over the head. I still think
that’s how it works. u SB Do you have any formal design training?
Vic: I grabbed a BA in Graphic Design from Nottingham Trent
University. u SB Where do you live now and why? Vic: Glorious
Peckham in South London in a restored house (incomplete). I love
it! u SB Where is your studio and can you describe it for me? Vic:
In Clerkenwell, part of Craft Central’s superb studios. My studio
is my sanctuary, and also my affair. It’s the place I love to go. u
SB Describe the view from your studio window. Vic: The best
place in London. In the city. u SB Who or What is your biggest
inspiration? Vic: My Dad has become my biggest inspiration. I
had a tough but learned upbringing, and my Mum passed away
when I was 3, so my Pops raised two kids. He would come home
from work with these amazing models made from brass, copper
and aluminium, I am sure he didn’t really do a great deal at work,
but he had an amazing cabinet filled with his works. He passed
