are your interests outside of illustration? Rosie: Painting - that’s
different in my opinion - walking (I have a dog and walk a lot),
gardening, playing the piano, and photography. I love going to
films and theatre, food and cooking, and the company of friends.
u SB Tell us about a favourite project you’ve recently completed.
Rosie: My book on apples (The Apple Book). It was a life’s work
and I’m really proud of it. u SB What would be your dream job
or commission? Rosie: To be commissioned to do a book of
my paintings. u SB What advice would you give to someone
wanting to get into illustration? Rosie: Work like hell and believe
in yourself. Always work to deadlines. u SB Do you have any
pets? Rosie: A black Labrador called Apple and a black cat called
Georgia O’Keefe. u SB If you won the lottery what would you
do with the money? Rosie: Buy a farm on Dartmoor and have
horses and a few pigs, buy a Ferrari and an old Landrover, and
do holidays for very young people. u SB What is your favourite
game, computer or not? Rosie: Sardines.
